Mr. Anuj Malhotra, trained himself in Landscape Architecture and from the start he was greatly inclined towards public space design as this was the most challenging and largely ignored domain. His notable work is in Kutch for which he was conferred with a national award. That was when Anuj got associated with CEPT on the Ahmedabad BRTS project. Along with CEPT team, Anuj was one of the key designers of NMT part of BRTS project in Ahmedabad. Thereafter, Anuj worked with ITDP as Director of Transport Programs to advise the government in Pimpri Chinchwad for its BRTS design and implementation. While he was at ITDP, he is credited for his initiative of Pune Streets Program, which is officially floated by Pune Municipal Corporation, with an ambitious goal of redoing 1200kms of streets of Pune and for his work in Passenger Accessibility System for PCMC BRTS project. Anuj also advised the governments of Rajkot, Delhi, Vadodara, Jaipur, Ranchi, Bhopal, Surat and Hyderabad for their initiatives in streets improvement and improving accessibility. Anuj, currently, is heading the Centre for Green Mobility in Ahmedabad, which is working in cities of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh on implementing the Cycle Sharing System and taking up large scale NMT improvements. In his own words, “I want to see the change happening, I can’t wait for a rebirth”.
