Mr. R. Srinivas

Sh. R. Srinivas has been working in Town and Country Planning Organization since 1991. He has done his Post Graduation Urban and Regional Planning from IIT Kharagpur and Professional Masters in Urban Planning and Management from ITC Netherlands. He has been heading the Metropolitan and Union Territories Division and is responsible for (i) Rendering technical advice and assistance on various issues pertaining to planning and development of Delhi NCR and Chandigarh ,(ii) Advising and assisting the Town Planning Departments of Union Territories related to urban development activities,(iii)Attending to the references of World Bank and ADB assisted urban development projects, (iv) Preparation of comments on the draft EFC Memo received from various Ministries for Centrally Sponsored Schemes, (v) Preparation of draft notes/paper on formulation of policy for urban development with reference to metropolitan cities, (vi) Attending to works pertaining to JNNURM assigned by Ministry with regard to draft speech, talking points and advisories pertaining to urban development. (vii)Undertaking research studies on selected themes of urban development with regard to million plus cities and (viii) Attending to matters pertaining to Traffic and Transportation Planning.

Recently, he has been instrumental in formulating Guidelines for the Scheme for Urban Infrastructure Development in Satellite Towns / Counter Magnets of Metropolitan Cities which was launched in 2008 and is responsible for appraising the CDPs and DPRs of Satellite towns. He is representing TCPO in various Committees viz., UTTIPEC (Working Group IIA and IIB), Town and Country Planning Board of DNH and DD, Working Group on 69th Round of NSSO and Technical Appraisal Committee of CBULB under JNNURM and Inter-Ministerial Committees of M/O Industry and Commerce. He has been very proactive on professional front being Secretary, Delhi Regional Chapter, ITPI (2003-05) and Secretary, Evaluation Committee; ITPI (2006 till date).He has more than 20 publications to his credit.
